ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.
Just before 8:30p.m. on Thursday an officer on patrol observed a vehicle at 10th and U.S. 59 in the City of Atchison with 40-year-old Charles Walker driving.
The officer was aware that there was an outstanding State of Missouri warrant for Walker. The officer attempted to stop to vehicle which fled east on U.S. 59 into Missouri.
At 11:20p.m. on Thursday the officer observed the same vehicle westbound on the Amelia Earhart Bridge and stopped the vehicle near 4th and U.S.59. Walker, who was now a passenger in the vehicle, was taken into custody on requested charges of fleeing and attempting to elude, driving while suspended, and a State of Missouri warrant for probation violation.
