SEDGWICK COUNTY– A Kansas teacher charged with sex crimes involving a student was back in court Friday for an arraignment hearing.
Nicole Morgan Baird Hernandez, 30, pleaded not guilty in Judge Rodger Woods courtroom, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. Earlier this month, the judge determined there was enough evidence against Hernandez to go to trial on charges of unlawful sexual relations with a student, according to the District Attorney's office.
Hernandez was an art teacher at Wichita North High School, according to the school web site. The student involved was over the age of 16, according to the arrest report.
On May 22, police arrested her in the 300 Block of West Tyler in Wichita. She met the requirement for bond and was released from custody the following day.
