SEDGWICK  COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a murder and asking the public's help in identifying a suspect.

Just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, police responded to a welfare check call in the 1600 block of South Emporia in Wichita of an unconscious person inside a White 2008 Lexus ES350, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers located 18-year-old Brock Beat of Wichita, who was unresponsive.  He was pronounced deceased on the scene and had no apparent injuries.

Through further investigation into the death, detectives learned of a history of drug use by Beat, and it is believed drugs are a factor in his death.

Detectives also learned the individual seen on security cameras had previously dropped off the Lexus on South Emporia Street.  Detectives would like to speak to the individual as they continue to investigate the case.
