KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with the Monday evening fatal shooting of another man during an a pre-arranged meeting at a parking lot, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
Tyler D. Thompson, 23, faces 26 felony charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.
According to court records, Kansas City police officers were dispatched on Feb. 26, on a reported shooting. They found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Spent shell casings were found near the victim and a vehicle.
Evidence showed Thompson and another individual met with the victim and another man to complete a drug transaction. The defendant opened fire with a rifle, killing the victim.
