Nearly sweeping its week seven opponents, the Madden 21 lineup highlight the latest results in the Barton Community College esports program headed to the bye week.
The Cougars went 7-1 last week in its video gridiron matchups, taking three of the four series with the other being split. Davon Morris, who had been ranked No. 1 most of the season until slipping into the second spot this week, and 25th ranked Anthony Twiggs each put up convincing victories over John Wood Community College opponents. Morris won his matchup 32-12 and 38-2 over the 9th ranked player while Twiggs was equally impressive outscoring his 26th ranked opponent 67-9 in the two-game set.
Moving up in the rankings this week, 12th ranked Corey Hale and 13th ranked Brayden Clare went 3-1. Hale swept 16th ranked Gogebic Community College, pulling out a 7-6 win before a 23-14 series wrap-up victory, with Clare coming up short in overtime 28-22 but splitting the series with a comfortable 28-10 win.
A forfeit win for the 8th ranked Rainbow 6 Siege team over 12th ranked Hawkeye Community College was the only other victory for the computer battlers as the Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers squad each took a loss. In Rocket League, the 20th ranked team took a 4-0 loss to 26th ranked Hawkeye while 51st ranked Landon Robl and 138th ranked Bryce Boltman each took 4-0 Super Smash losses to 52nd ranked John Wood and 135th ranked Navarro College respectively.
Fortnite is in the midst of a two-week layoff as everyone will have the upcoming week off for Thanksgiving break.
Following the bye week Barton has one final week of the fall portion of the schedule, resuming November 30th with post-season beginning the final week.
