WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Authorities investigating a fatal weekend crash have identified the driver who died as 63-year-old Gregory West of Gardner.
According to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Traffic Division, just before 6:30a.m. Saturday, a vehicle driven by West was westbound at W. 47th Street and Springfield Street. The vehicle traveled off the road and struck a light pole.
EMS transported West to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the KCKPD Traffic Division. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
