Gusty winds pushed plane over at Kansas airport

JOHNSON COUNTY —A pilot and co-pilot avoided injury after an airplane mishap just before 1p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a PA-18 Replica piloted by Mark E  Skoric, 71, Uniontown, Pennsylania, was at New Century Airport, located 175th Street and Interstate 35 in Olathe.

 The wind caught the tail end of the plane wrong and turned it causing the aircraft to turn over onto its right side.

Skoric and the co-pilot Adam Alfrey Luce, 39, Rockwood, Pennsylvania, were not injured. The accident is under investigation.
