Second half goals by Jonathan Pasos and Mario Arias helped the Great Bend Panthers get past Salina-South 3-1 Tuesday in the first round of the 5A Soccer playoffs at the Cavanaugh Soccer Complex.
It was a 1-0 game at halftime with Jamie Arellanes providing the first half goal for Great Bend. South tied the game midway through the second half before the Panthers answered with a pair of goals to provide the final margin.
Great Bend (6-9) advances to the next round where they will face Salina-Central (6-8-1) Thursday at Salina Stadium. The Mustangs defeated Hays Tuesday 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 tie in regulation and 30 minutes of overtime.
