SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating an alleged threat against the Mayor of Wichita and have made an arrest.
On Monday, police confirmed the alleged threat. "We are aware of the threats made against Mayor Lily Wu. Our investigators have been in contact with the Mayor and police are working closely with the mayor and her staff.”
According to the Sedgwick County booking report 50-year-old Kyle G. Cornejo, was arrested at 1021 West 31st S in Wichita and booked into jail just before 8pm. Monday on requested charges of criminal threat, cause terror, evacuation or disruption, according to booking records.
"Wichita Police in an email said, "As a matter of safety and policy, we do not discuss or disclose security measures, protective details, or tactical responses."
