OKLAHOMA COUNTY—Authorities are investigating a deadly plane crash near Oklahoma City.
Just before 10:30a.m. Sunday, the Oklahoma City Fire Department was dispatched to an aircraft crash at Wiley Post Airport involving one single engine prop plane with two on-board, according to a media release. Firefighters arrived to find one man attempting to rescue the other passenger from the fully engulfed aircraft wreckage.
Firefighters extinguished the aircraft and began treating the man. The other individual was pronounced dead at the scene. First responders treated the man on-scene and transported him to an area hospital in critical condition where he later died.
The FAA and NTSB are in charge of the investigation. Officials have not released the names of the victims.
