The Great Bend Lady Panthers have advanced to quarterfinal action in the 5A State Volleyball bracket by winning Sub-State Saturday afternoon in Great Bend.
The Panthers defeated Hays in the semi-finals 25-20, 25-19 before knocking off Salina Central in the championship match 25-19, 25-22.
Great Bend will now travel to Maize South Tuesday to face the Lady Mavericks to determine who will move onto the the 5A State Tournament in Salina on Saturday October, 31.
Maize South enters the match on their home floor with a record of 28-6. Great Bend is 20-10. The match will be a best of five format.
The winner advances to the final four next Saturday at the Tony's Pizza Events Center in Salina.
