SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas man accused of child abuse made his first court appearance in the case this week.
Ronald Leyman Jr, 27, was charged with two counts of abuse of a child, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just before 4a a.m. Friday, police received a report of child abuse at a local area hospital. The victim had suffered abusive injuries and was going to be admitted to the hospital, according to Office Kris Gupilan.
A sibling twin of the child, who also lived in the home, was taken into Police Protective Custody and transported to an area hospital for evaluation. It was determined this child also had abusive injuries.
Police conducted interviews of those involved and a suspect was identified as a Leyman. He is being on a $300,000 bond.
