The Great Bend Retail Roundtable group consists of several business owners throughout town that discuss ways to improve and promote business. Through the group’s monthly brainstorming event, the Retail Roundtable decided to show extra love to local restaurants this week with the promotion “Great Bend! Great Cuisine! Restaurant Week.”

Angela Sycz of Stoneridge Country Club noted these places to eat could really use the extra help.

"We really did not having anything that highlighted all the wonderful restaurants we have in Great Bend," said Sycz. "We know our hospitality industry in Great Bend has taken a hit and we wanted to do something to support small, locally-owned restaurants."

The plan is to have Restaurant Week quarterly with the first stretch starting this week. The focus this week is original recipes, ethnic and specialty cuisine.

"What is unique about this is this is true ethnic food," Sycz said. "This is all original recipe made from scratch which is our theme this quarter."

There are nine participating Great Bend restaurants this week with each place hosting a drawing at the end of the week for a $25 gift certificate. Patrons can sign up for the drawing each time they eat at the participating restaurants this week.

The list of participating restaurants include:
Sarocha Thai Restaurant
Delgados
Mizumi Hibachi, Sushi & Steak
RePerks Coffee Shop
Play Azul Mexican Restaurant & Cantina
Great Bend Coffee
Maria’s Mexican Grill
Stoneridge Country Club
