Man from St. John hospitalized after crash with semi

STAFFORD COUNTY —Just before 12:30p.m. Thursday in Stafford County, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by Barry C. Ragan, 78, St. John, was stopped at the stop sign on 4th Avenue and U.S. 281 in St. John.

The Toyota pulled onto U.S. 281 and into the path of a northbound 2014 Kenworth semi driven by Terry Gene Bomhak, 58, El Reno, Oklahoma.

The semi struck the Toyota's passenger side. Both vehicles came to rest on the east shoulder of the highway.

EMS transported Ragan to a Wichita hospital. Bomhak was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
