KANSAS CITY—One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Monday in Kansas City.
A KIA Rondo was southbound on Cleaver II at a very high rate of speed. Just before Elmwood, the KIA traveled off the road to the left through the grassy median and struck a large tree, according to KCPD Captain Corey Carlisle.
The driver and sole occupant of the KIA was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to Carlisle.
This is fatality #100 compared to #84 at this time last year. Police no release the name of the victim.
