Barton eSports kicks-off spring portion of season

The Barton Community College esports team is in full swing as the Cougars have kicked off the spring portion of the season. Through two weeks into the season, the Cougars have posted a 5-10 mark in a variety of four games.

Sophomore Landon Robl dominated his competition in the opening two weeks skunking both opponents from Vincennes University and St. Clair Community College 4-0 in Smash. Meanwhile teammates Bryce Boltman and Trent Keffer suffered defeats in each of their two contests.

In Rocket League the Cougars responded back with a 4-1 victory over Umpqua after falling in opening week action to Waubonsee Community College 4-0.

NBA2K was unkind to the Cougars as both gamers dropped their opening contests with Anthony Twiggs falling 2-1 to Westmoreland County, while Cesar Robles suffered a 2-0 mark to Southwestern Oregon Community College in his Cougar debut. The duo bounced back with a pair of 2-0 victories over Crowder College securing a 2-1 mark for the Cougars in 2K action with Brayden Clare falling in his season opener 2-1 to Broome Community College following a week one bye.

Overwatch and Call of Duty: Cold War both finished 0-1 over the two-week period.

Barton's busy week will continue with a slate of nine different matchups with five different game categories.
