KANSAS CITY — Liberty Hospital, 2525 Glenn Hendren Drive, Liberty, Mo., is experiencing a disruption to their computer systems. The technical problems began early Tuesday, according to a media release.

Hospital staff continues to care for patients while following standard protocols to document patient care while the computer systems are down.

As information technology staff actively investigate the source of the disruption, hospital officials are unable to estimate how long the computer issue will last.

The technology team is confirming the impact to hospital services and working to restore functionality as soon as possible.

After evaluating the care of every inpatient, hospital staff made the decision to transfer certain patients to other hospitals.

The Kansas City Fire Department, along with the other strike team Ambulances, transported approximately 30 patients, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins. Liberty EMS transported an additional 10 to 15.

The remaining inpatients will continue to receive care at the hospital. Meanwhile, the hospital is encouraging the public to seek emergency care at other hospital emergency departments. Our primary and specialty care clinics is contacting patients who have appointments scheduled  to determine next steps.
