SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in the death of his pregnant girlfriend whose body was found in the truck of his car made his first court appearance Wednesday. Alexander Lewis, 22 of Wichita, is charged with capital murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just after 11a.m. Saturday, 911 dispatch in Sedgwick County received a call from a 911 operator from North Carolina reporting a possible homicide in the Wichita area, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.
Based on the information given to the North Carolina 911 operator by a family member of the suspect, Wichita police officers were sent to two different locations, the 3900 block of E 17th Street North in Wichita and the 7600 block of E 21st Street N in Wichita.
Upon arrival at the 21st Street address, officers contacted Lewis and located Bronson's body of in the trunk of his vehicle. Officers pulled her body out of the trunk and provided life-saving measures until EMS arrived on the scene.
She was later pronounced deceased by EMS. Police arrested Lewis.

He is due back in court Sept. 14, according to the district attorney's office. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
