Republican Roger Marshall and Democrat candidate Adam Hamilton are in a battle over Marshall's U.S. Senate Seat. On August 17, Marshall challened Hamilton to a debate at the State Fair.
Hamilton's campaign has not confirmed whether he will debate Marshall and abide by those suggested rules. However, Hamilton did post a note on social media just after 5p.m. Friday, the supposed deadline, to agree to the debate.
In addition a representative of the Hamilton campaign responded to Marshall's social media post.
Marshall who is seeking reelection as a loyalist of President Donald Trump, easily won the August primary. He faces a serious general election challenge from Hamilton, who founded the largest United Methodist church in the United States, and won the 11-candidate Democratic primary.
