RENO COUNTY — Hutchinson firefighters helped rescue a person stuck in the mud in Cow Creek on Thursday.
Just after 6p.m. fire crews responded to an entrapment with a person stuck in mud up to his chest, according to Fire Chief Steven Beer.
First responders found a man in his mid-twenties stuck in the mud. The friends who called 911 said before they called, the victim was only in as deep as his knees, but by the time crews got there, he had sunk over a foot.
Firefighters used a rope to put around him to keep him from sinking any further and then got a ladder and put it next to him to allow him to use the strength he had left to help hoist him out of the mud. There were no injuries reported.
