Kansas men jailed after rolling domestic dispute

BROWN COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating two suspects on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.

Just after 8p.m. April 23, the Brown County sheriff's office received a call  of a possible rolling  domestic issue involving a red Ford Explorer near Horton on Kansas 20 Highway, according to Sheriff John Merchant.

The caller stated that the driver was hitting a woman and forcing her into the vehicle.  A deputy on routine patrol who was in the area, observed the vehicle on K-20 near Goldfinch and initiated a traffic stop. 

At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle identified as 26-year-old  Cager Spates of Horton was arrested on requested charges of DUI and Obstruction. 

It was also learned thatSpates had four Douglas County Warrants for Criminal Damage to Property, Battery and Felony Criminal Threat. He also had a Johnson County Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Tyrone Green, 25, Horton who was a passenger in the vehicle was also arrested on warrants out of Jackson County and Nebraska.  Green was transported tothe Jackson county line where a Jackson County  deputy then transported Green to the Jackson County jail.
