Two safely escape Kansas City house fire

KANSAS CITY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a house fire in Kansas City.

Just after 9a.m. Tuesday, crews responded to a fire at a h ome in the 3300 block of Chestnut, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

Crews found heavy fire from the second floor of the two-story house. Searches of the home came back all clear. Two residents were home and safely escaped. 

The home suffered significant damage to the second floor from fire, and water damage to the first. It will be unlivable until repairs can be made.  No injuries were reported.
