Kansas individual income tax collections below the estimate

TOPEKA – The State of Kansas ends September 2026 with total tax collections at $1.08 billion. That is $56.5 million, or 5.5%, above the estimate. Total tax collections were up 7.7% from September 2025, according to a media release from the Kansas Department of Revenue.

Individual income tax collections were $477.7 million. That is $13.3 million, or 2.7%, below the estimate. Individual income tax collections were down 0.8% from September 2025. Corporate income tax collections were $261.7 million. That is $58.3 million, or 28.6%, above the estimate.

Combined retail sales and compensating use tax receipts were $308.7 million, which is $8.3 million, or 2.8%, above the estimate, and up 5.2% from September 2025.
