Homicide: Police found 2 dozen shell casings outside KC home

KANSAS CITY —A man has been charged for the fatal shooting of a man on Nov. 28,  inside his Kansas City residence, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Kequan O. Herring, 25, Kansas City, faces Murder 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Armed Criminal Action charges.

According to court records, Kanas City police were dispatched to the shooting and found the victim inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot.

KCPD detectives and crime scene technicians located nearly two dozen shell casings outside the residence. Detectives used witness statements, video and phone records to establish the defendant as the shooter in the area of the homicide at the time of the crime.
