SEDGWICK COUNTY —With a heavy heart, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the passing of Police Service Dog Turbo.

Police Service Dog Turbo was diagnosed with a fast moving and terminal form of cancer, according to Sedgwick County Sheriff's Lt. Nathan Gibbs.

Turbo joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2018 and was a vital contributor to detention operations. Turbo played a key role in the elimination of contraband from the detention facility.

On Friday morning,  Turbo passed away peacefully with his handler and several other co-workers by his side.
