KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities in Kansas City investigating a murder have identified the victim as 23-year-old Ja’carious I. McKissic, Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just before 11:30p.m. Friday, police were dispatched to a sound of gunshots the 600 block of E 110th Terrace in Kansas City, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte'.
When officers arrived, they were summoned to a nearby residence where McKissic was located in the front yard unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to Gonzalez.
EMS responded and transported him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred over an argument. Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to gather evidence and collect witness statements. Police have not reported an arrest.
