SALINA —Just before 10p.m. Monday, the Kansas Highway Patrol made a DUI arrest on Interstate 135 just south of Salina, according to a social media report from Trooper Ben Gardner.

The vehicle was observed speeding and failing to maintain its lane. During the traffic stop, signs of impairment were noted. The driver submitted to a preliminary breath test (PBT), revealing a blood alcohol level of .261—over three times the legal limit of .08 for individuals 21 years and older.

The driver was arrested and charged with DUI, transporting an open container, speeding, and failing to maintain a single. Gardner reminded, "driving under the influence endangers everyone."
