SHERMAN COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect found hiding in a corn field.

On Friday, the Sherman County Sheriff's office and KHP were north of Edson with a possible armed suspect in a cornfield, according Sheriff Burton Pianalto.

The suspect was contained within the cornfield and there was no danger to surrounding homes. However, the sheriff wanted area residents to be alert and keep their eyes open to what is going on.

Shortly after KHP aircraft arrived, deputies took the suspect into custody without incident. The sheriff's office released no additional details including the name of the suspect late Friday morning.
