SHAWNEE COUNTY —Authorities are working to determine the cause of a Wednesday house fire in Topeka.
Just after 4a.m. crews responded to report of a fire at a 2-story home at 715 West 16th Street, according to department spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
Residents were able to escape the fire before crews arrived. Investigators determine the fire caused approximately $5,000.00 damage. The home had working smoke detectors, according to investigators. There were no injuries reported.
