JACKSON COUNTY—Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a rural Kansas home.
Just after 10p.m. Tuesday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a house fire at 13626 E. Road, north of the City of Delia, in southwestern Jackson County, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
Crews battled the fire throughout the night and finally cleared the scene around 4a.m. Wednesday. The house had been occupied prior to the fire being reported. All occupants were able to evacuate without injury. The residence was deemed a total loss.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire. Fire crews from Delia, Mayetta, Hoyt and the PBPN fire departments responded to the scene as well as Jackson County EMS. There were no injuries reported.
