SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of deadly shootings over the past week in Topeka and have another suspect in custody.
At 10:30 p.m. Oct. 10, police responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of SE Pennsylvania Street in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.
First responders located 17-year-old Victor Carlton suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Early Tuesday police reported the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect on requested charges of murder and aggravated robbery.
On Thursday, police reported an additional arrest has been made in this investigation. A 17-year-old boy from Topeka, was transported to the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections on requested charges of Murder in the 1st, degree, in the commission of a felony and Aggravated Robbery.
