Kansas jail deputy charged for off-duty incident

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Authorities have charges a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy for misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, according to sheriff's department spokesperson Lt. Benjamin Blick.

The charge stems from an off-duty incident on August 26, 2021. The Detention Deputy, Aareon White, has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for almost six months.

In addition to the criminal case, the Professional Standards Unit of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is also conducting an investigation. Deputy White has been placed on restricted duty pending the outcome of the criminal and internal investigation.
