Kansas felon jailed for violent knife attack

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating  a violent attack and have a Kansas felon in custody.

Just before 3p.m.  June 15, police were dispatched to the 1300 block of SW Western Avenue in Topeka in reference to a stabbing, according to Police Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

First responders located a man suffering multiple lacerations. He was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Police did not have an update on the condition of the victim.

As a result of the investigation, Xavian Locke, 24, was jailed on requested charges of  Aggravated Battery and a County Warrant.  He has previous convictions for Criminal Discharge of a Firearm and Criminal possess firearm; Convicted felon or drug offender, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
