WABAUNSEE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 6a.m. Monday in Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Jerry Anstey, 51, Alma, was northbound on Kansas 99 just south of SW 99 Frontage Road.
The car left the roadway to the right. The driver overcorrected and the car re-entered the roadway, rotated counterclockwise, crossed the centerline, exited the roadway to the left, struck the rock embankment on the passenger side in the west ditch and overturned.
Anstey was pronounced dead at at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
