RILEY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 9p.m. Saturday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Monte S. Busch, 49, Manhattan, was westbound on Highway 24 two miles west of Manhattan.
The driver failed to negotiate the curve. The Jeep entered the north ditch, struck a KDOT sign, entered westbound lanes, the median, struck another KDOT sign and rolled on its top.
Busch was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
