Prosecutor: Suspect killed man and shot his mother

KANSAS CITY—Prosecutors have filed charges against 40-yeara-old Kevin Casey Andrew in connection with the death of a man and the shooting of his mother during an incidcent on July 21, at a home located on Sunflower Street in the Kansas City suburb of Smithville, Missouri, according to Clay County prosecutor Zachary Thompson.

Andrews is charged with Murder in the First Degree, Domestic Assault in the First Degree, and two Counts of Armed Criminal Action. 

Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, prosecutors allege that the Andrews knowingly, after deliberation, caused the death of the man by shooting him. Prosecutors further allege Andrews knowingly caused serious physical injury to his mother by shooting her.

Andrews is being held on $2,000,000 bond at the Clay County Detention Center.
