MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at a Kansas home.
Just after 5:30a.m. Wednesday, crews responded to a reported house fire with injuries at 2nd and Magnolia in the city of Independence, according to a media release.
First responders found the home fully involved with fire with exposure to the north in danger. A second alarm was requested. A defensive attack with Tower 1 aerial operations brought the fire under control within 45 minutes.
A patient was treated on scene and there was possibly one deceased animal in the home. Assisting Independence Fire-EMS was Cherryvale Fire-EMS, Independence Rural Fire and Dearing Rural Fire.
