KANSAS CITY (AP) — A Kansas City woman has been sentenced to three consecutive life terms for killing three people in 2019.

The sentence was handed down Tuesday for 37-year-old Lynnsey D. Jones. She was found guilty in November of three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of armed criminal action.

Court documents said Jones went to a Kansas City home to buy drugs on Oct. 17, 2019. Officers responding to reports of gunshots saw her walking with a weapon in her hands. Officers then found the bodies of Larona T. Jones, Brady Jones and Larry T. Barnes Jr. inside and outside of the home.

When police asked Jones why she shot the three victims, she replied “because I’m a bad person,” according to a police affidavit.
