JOHNSON COUNTY —A Kansas man is going to prison for the death of his 26-year-old step-son Bryson Smith.
Last month, a judge sentenced 52-year-old Christopher M. Barwick to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 50-years, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.
According to court documents, the shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. April 23, 2023 at a home in the 800 Block of South Windsor Road. Smith died two days after the shooting.
