KCKPD: Pedestrian run over attempting to jump-start car

KANSAS CITY —A pedestrian was injured in an accident just after 4p.m.  Saturday in Kansas City.

The pedestrian and a friend were attempting to start the pedestrian's vehicle at 10511 Blue Ridge Boulevard, according Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

After jump starting the vehicle, which had been left in gear, the vehicle lurched forward striking the pedestrian and knocking him down. The left front wheel ran over the pedestrian.

EMS transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with serious injuries, according Gonzalez.  Police have not released the name of the pedestrian or additional details.
