Kansas man dies 6 days after injured in motorcycle crash

DICKINSON COUNTY — One of two men injured in an accident June 7 in Dickinson County has died.

Robert “Rebob” Wayne Bartholic, age 58 of Ogden, passed away Saturday, June 13 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, due to injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident, according to his obituary.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1992 Chevy pickup driven by Raul Martinez, 57, Chase, was northbound on U.S. 56 three miles south of Kansas 4 Highway.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at U.S. 77 and rear ended Harley Davidson motorcycles driven by Bartholic and  Mark P. Brown, 40, Council Grove which were stationary facing north sitting at the stop sign of U.S. 77 and U.S. 56 in Herington.

EMS transported Brown and Bartholic to the hospital in Abilene. Bartholic was later transferred to Wesley Medical Center.  Martinez was not injured. Brown and Baretholic were not wearing helmets, according to the KHP.

Corrected, 3 p.m. Wednesday, to reflect the correct date of the accident.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1992 Chevy pickup driven by Raul Martinez, 57, Chase, was northbound on U.S. 56 three miles south of Kansas 4 Highway.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign at U.S. 77 and rear ended a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Mark P. Brown, 40, Council Grove and a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Robert W.Bartholic, 58, Ogden, which were stationary facing north sitting at the stop sign of U.S. 77 and U.S. 56 in Herington.

EMS transported Brown and Bartholic to the hospital in Abilene.  Martinez was not injured. Brown and Baretholic were not wearing helmets, according to the KHP.
