Enforcement Manager Austin LaViolette issued a public service announcement to
all property owners that mowing season is upon us. If you have not already, it
is time to bring the mowers out of the garage. 
"You are responsible for areas outside of your privacy fence and grass between the sidewalk and the street," said LaViolette. "We are getting to the point where staff will be addressing properties pretty hard." 
All grass, weeds and obnoxious vegetable growths on any lot or piece of land,
including right of way and easements adjacent to your property, should be mowed
and maintained at less than nine inches high. Easements may include the area
outside your fence or in the alley. Owners with right of way properties are
responsible for mowing the grass area between the sidewalk and the curb. "If you have not mowed at least once by now, you will probably be hearing from us in the next week or so," said LaViolette. 
In July 2020, the city council revised the ordinance stating the violations of
overgrown vegetation from 12 inches to nine inches.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
