JOHNSON COUNTY—A suspect accused in a fatal fentanyl overdose death has made a court appearance.
On Thursday, 20-year-old Hugo Cesar Guzman, Jr. was charged with drug distribution causing death and two counts of fentanyl distribution, according to the Johnson County District Attorneys Office.
Guzman was accused of distributing the drugs that led to the death of Wesley Howard on Feb. 20, 2022.
Guzman is being held in the Johnson County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. He is due back in court Oct. 19, according to the district attorney's office.
