SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities  investigating a deadly shooting that may be the result of a road-rage incident have identified the victim as 20-year-old Joshua Batemon.

Just before 2a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting call in the 1500 block of North Poplar Avenue in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

First responders discovered Batemon with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.  EMS transported a second victim, an 18-year-old, to an area hospital. He remains in extremely critical condition.

Investigators spoke with person(s) of interest in connection to the shooting to determine what led to this tragic incident. Preliminary information relayed to investigators suggested all individuals involved know each other and that a possible road rage incident in the 1900 block of Broadway hours prior may have led to the subsequent shooting, according to Rebolledo.
