DAWSON COUNTY, Neb. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect after a significant drug bust.
Just after 7:30 a.m. August 24, a trooper observed an eastbound Cadillac CTS speeding near Lexington Precinct on Interstate 80 in Dawson County, according to a media release from Nebraska State Patrol.
During the traffic stop, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed more than 100 packages containing a total weight of 133 pounds of marijuana.
Troopers arrested the driver, Jose Aparicio Mendoza, 28, of Mexico, on requested charges of possession of marijuana – more than one pound, possession with intent to deliver, and no operator’s license. He is being held in Dawson County Jail.
