HAMILTON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple charges after a 2-state police chase.
Just before 1a.m. Dec. 17, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received information from Colorado authorities that a vehicle involved in a pursuit across several counties was headed towards Kansas, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's office.
The suspect vehicle was observed traveling through Coolidge headed east on U.S.50. A traffic stop was initiated east of Syracuse, Kansas where the vehicle pulled over.
The Deputy started to approach the vehicle and the driver later identified as 27-year-old Adrian Gonzales of Aurora, Colorado fled eastbound.
Gonzales turned around and headed back towards Syracuse and went off road north on Grain Bin Road and got stuck. He threw a handgun and methamphetamine out the passenger side window shattering the glass. Deputies were able to take him into custody without incident. He remains in custody, according to online jail records. The sheriff's office has not released all the requested charges he faces.
