The Great Bend Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Great Bend and Barton County have been releasing a "Most Wanted" list since last May. The list contains a picture and information about individuals that are wanted on felony warrants. So far 31 people on the list have been arrested.

According to Great Bend Police Chief Steve Haulmark, the purpose of the list is simple, to get help from the public in apprehending people who are wanted by law enforcement for allegedly committing serious crimes. He said the idea has been successful.

“We get tips all the time,” Haulmark noted. “Sometimes they pan out, sometimes they don’t. It doesn’t mean it’s not good information, but we’ve got people calling in tips. We’ve seen the amount of tips has increased significantly since we started doing it.”

You can find the police department's "Most Wanted" list on the Great Bend Police Department Facebook page. Anyone wanting to pass on a tip can do so by contacting the police department or Crime Stoppers.

All Crime Stoppers calls are routed through a call center in Texas. Information can also be sent online or by using a mobile app. Anyone contacting Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and may be entitled to a cash reward.
