KANSAS CITY —A woman is dead after an accident that occurred just before 5:30p.m. Wednesday at NW Barry Road and NW Allenton in Kansas City ,Missouri.
As officers arrived they located three vehicles involved in a motor vehicle crash. An adult male victim was located in the first vehicle with serious injuries. An adult female victim, later identified as 63-year-old Cheryl Bruette, was located in the second vehicle with life threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. A third vehicle was located occupied by an adult male.
A short time later investigating officers were notified that Bruette died of her injuries. The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and began the initial investigation. Preliminary information revealed the third vehicle appeared to have intentionally struck the victim’s vehicles.
This is now being investigated as a homicide and homicide detectives have taken over the case. A subject of interest was taken into custody pending further investigation.
