Police: Kansas ride share vehicle stolen at gunpoint

JOHNSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are  seeking information or witnesses surrounding a burglary and robbery investigation.

On Wednesday, the Overland Park Police Department received a report that a ride-share driver had his vehicle stolen near W 135th and Switzer, according to a media release.

Officers discovered that the ride-share driver was approached by a suspect who displayed a weapon and took the victim's vehicle.  There were no injuries to the victim.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 6-foot-2 with a black beard and black hair. The suspect left north on Switzer. While conducting an area search, officers located the abandoned stolen vehicle at a nearby business.

The business doors were found unsecured and the officers searched the business for the suspect, however the suspect was not located.
