KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a deadly stabbing and asking the public for help to locate a suspect.
Just before 4:30p.m. Saturday, a citizen transported a man to Fire Station #3 in Independence, Missouri, with apparent stab wounds, for medical treatment, according to a media release.
As fire department personnel were rendering aid to the individual, he died of his injuries.
During the investigation, it was determined that the stabbing occurred in the area of Truman Road and Hardy Avenue. Investigators are looking for a person of interest identified as 34-year-old Anthony J. Durkin.
Durkin is described as a white male, 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. He has a tattoo “RESPETO” on the right side of his neck and tattoo “Scooby Doo” on his right arm.
Durkin is homeless and frequents the area of 24 Highway and Sterling Avenue.
If Durkin is located, do not approach and call 911.
